Facilitating human rights developments through various means. We’re working towards establishing, promoting, and supporting a society where every individual’s rights to health, protection, education, and participation are guaranteed by informing, empowering, and enabling every individual to realize, claim, protect and fulfill his/her rights in a free and safe environment.
Vision
Hariwan’s vision is to be the primary support and platform for a civil society represented by a global community of informed, empowered and committed NGOs that fully participate with the international organizations rules in decision-making and programs leading to a better world, a world social justice.
Who we are
Hariwan established and registered on May 22 nd , 2017 obtained a registration certificate under the NO. 3510-L in accordance with the laws and legislations of the KRG, Hariwan on January 8 th , 2019 obtained a registration certificate under the NO. 4025 from the NGOs Directorate in the cabinet council in Baghdad.
Empowering Women and Families through Sustainable Livelihoods

Hariwan Organization has always tried to help develop societies across Kurdistan and Iraq. Driven by our mission to protect human rights, build peace, and improve the psychological and economic conditions of families, we conducted this project in partnership with ASB and with funding from ADH. The initiative was aimed to better the livelihoods and psychosocial health of women survivors, female-headed households, and their families.
· Business Startups: We linked 20 vulnerable women with 4 local SMEs for vocational training, providing mentorship and startup packages to launch self-sustaining micro-businesses.
· Empowerment Festival: We hosted the "Voices of Change, Power of Enterprise" festival at Tahsin Taha Park, giving all 24 women public booths to market their new businesses and sell directly to over 200 community members.
